Pyramid

The Pyramids in Egypt were the tombs of the pharaohs who ruled over that country in ancient times. The pharaohs were buried as mummies with their possessions. These valuables were often stolen by grave thieves. The first pyramid was built about 2500 B.C. About 70 still survive. More than 100,000 people were involved in the construction, mostly slaves but also farmers from the area. The most famous pyramids are those at Gizeh near Cairo and the three pyramids of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinos. In our pyramid you will see a replica of Tutankhamun’s mummy.
