It was made from a single piece of rubber; the diver had to be assisted into the suit through the neck opening by several people. The equipment was weighted with lead in the shoes. The copper helmet was fitted with windows. The suit weighed about 80 kilograms in total. The diver could move only with difficulty, and entering the water was a laborious process.
